Tech tips MKIII Gauges not working Engine runs fine, no show of any gauges. This problem was brought to our attention a short while ago. The owner had gone to a car show and as he was leaving the show he noticed that his oil, fuel and temp gauges were not functioning. There were many speculations about it maybe being a voltage regulator which sits behind the gauge clusters, loose wires, bad ground etc. With our years of experience with Lincolns we have found that 9 out of 10 times the cause is in the ignition switch. Try wiggling it slightly to the left. This should correct the problem. This play in the switch is normally caused by heavy keyrings hanging under the switch. Try having only a few keys on your MKIII key ring.
